Flabellina pedata image

Nudibranch: Flabellina pedata
Taken off the Isle of Man.
Photo copyright Tim Nicholson.

What this nudibranch lacks in size it makes up for in fabulous colours. White-tipped pink protruberances appear from a magenta body. The eggs are layed as a thin white thread that are sometimes easier to spot than the nudibranch itself. This is because the nudibranchs make their home amongst red seaweeds. 2 cm long, you may see them on coasts between Norway and the Mediterranean.
