Diving Singapore

10 November 2015
You can learn to dive in Singapore and it does have dive sites. However, it is in easy reach of much better dive sites at Tioman and elsewhere in Malaysia and Indonesia. The water is warm and a 3-4 mm wetsuit should suffice

When in Singapore remember that it is illegal to drink alcohol in public places (eg not in either a bar and restaurant) from 10.30 pm to 7 am and all day at weekends in certain areas.

Books to Take to Singapore

Malaysia and Singapore Dive Guide
by Jack Jackson.
Coral Reef Fishes, Indo-Pacific and Caribbean
by Ewald Lieske and Robert Myers, Harper Collins, 400 Pages, Paperback
An excellent, comprehensive guide to reef fishes, which is small and light enough to pack regardless of amount of diving equipment. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to identify the fish they see whilst diving the tropics.
